New partner joins the BLG Privacy and Data Protection Group

BLG is very proud to welcome Élisa Henry as partner in our Privacy and Data Protection Group. She brings a strong European expertise, with a focus on the recently enacted General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). This will offer a distinctive advantage for our clients with global operations.

Élisa is a graduate of McGill University where she obtained her LL.M of Comparative Law in 2002, the Université Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) where she obtained her DEA of Private International Law in 1998 and the Université Paris XI (Sceaux) where she obtained her Masters in Business Law in 1997. Élisa was called to the Barreau de Paris in 2002 and the Barreau du Québec in 2011. She articled and practiced in international law firms based in Paris and then was Executive Director of McGill University’s Centre for Intellectual Property Policy. She also taught Private International Law and International Arbitration for the Masters Program of Cyber-governance at the L’École Polytechnique de Lausanne. Most recently, she was a partner and Co-Chair of the Privacy and Data Protection Practice Group at a Canadian law firm. Élisa advises international and domestic clients on a broad range of privacy and data security compliance, intellectual property, information technology, procurement, cybersecurity, e-commerce and business law. Her clients operate in various industries, including technology, telecommunications, media, aviation and aeronautics, financial services, retail, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. She is an Officer of the Technology Law Committee of the International Bar Association.
