Quebecers protected from unwanted email marketing

In Canada, there has recently been a lot of noise about the new anti-spam law, CASL, or an “Act to promote the efficiency and adaptability of the Canadian economy by regulating certain activities that discourage reliance on electronic means of carrying our commercial activities.” The CASL was passed in December 2010, is awaiting proclamation and should come into force shortly.
